The idea for this Community came from the stark knowledge that so many of those dying from the disease were those in extended care facilities. Beyond their families, who would see their deaths as more than statistics on a page. I wanted to create a space where families could contribute memories, photos, and links to share who their loved one was and how society was changed as a result of their life.

This Community, however, is for anyone who wants to share the story of their loved one. They need not have a connection with a long term care facility. Based upon details provided by families, I want to add tags (city, state, profession, hobbies) so that lives can be connected through shared experiences and explored here.

I’ve created instructions so that anyone can contribute, but I also want to provide help to anyone who has a technology barrier. (See Participate tab for more information on ways to participate.) This Community is for all.
